Chalkboard Welcome Back

Dear Parents,

Welcome to the 2019-2020 school year!  We at McKinley are so excited to begin another year of fun and learning.

With the beginning of another school year comes the return of routines.  In order to help make your child’s transition back to school a successful one, here are some helpful routines.

  • Have your child lay out clothes and shoes the night before.
  • Have your child pack his/her backpack with everything he/she needs for the next day.
  • Check the weather forecast the night before to see what your child will need to wear.
  • Put backpacks and anything else your child will need by the door.
  • Lay out breakfast things such as cereal bowls and spoons the night before.
  • Have a quiet, comfortable place set up for your child to do homework.  To help your child concentrate, turn off the TV and radio.
  • Set up a nightly bedtime.  Whether your child is a kindergartener or a fourth grader, it is important to have a set bedtime each night.

Working together as team both in school and at home will ensure that your child will have a successful school year.  Please remember if you have any questions or concerns, we are only a phone call or an email away.

Sincerely,

Shannon Knopf, Principal
