Last week, students and staff dove into the world of Veterans, uncovering what it truly means to be one. Check out the cool creations and activities they did last week!
Friday was a special day at Mellette Elementary, as students hosted a Veterans Day program to honor the family members of staff and students who have served or are currently serving in the armed forces. We express our heartfelt gratitude to all veterans! During the program, students performed songs, recited poems, and read letters to convey their appreciation for the service of these brave individuals

Our 3rd-grade students had the opportunity to learn flag folding and important flag etiquette from veterans in our community. A big thank you to all who participated! 🇺🇸

Food Drive starting this week through November 24th! Bring your non-perishable items to school! Boxes will be set up by the front office.
On Friday, the wild wonders of Sioux Falls Great Plains Zoo rolled into Mellette with their zoo mobile! Students got an up-close-and-personal look into the animal kingdom, complete with some scaly high-fives. A huge shoutout to the Great Plains Zoo for a wildly fun adventure!
Last week was School Psychologists Week, and we hit the jackpot with Ms. Fodness at Mellette! Huge thanks for everything you do for our students! We are so lucky to have you! 💜
