The Watertown Intermediate School has a warm and caring environment where we strive to educate the whole child. Students are taught both academic and social skills to ensure our district's goal of "enabling all children to succeed in an ever-changing world."
Academically, students are exposed to a curriculum that is creative and connected to the real world, leaving them prepared for success both now and in the future. We pride ourselves on offering a curriculum that is rigorous and relevant. Our students will learn in a blended environment of traditional classrooms that utilize modern technology through our 1 to 1 iPad initiative.
The education of children is a team effort between home and school. Working together, it will be exciting to see our students accomplish the following goals:
All regular education students at WIS will be performing at or above grade level.
Students will make a minimum of one year gain each year.
Students who transfer into WIS below grade level will be caught up and functioning on grade level within their two-year attendance.
All of our staff members are trained in teaching social skills to develop a well-balanced student. Social skills are taught and practiced daily, nurturing a respectful and positive school atmosphere.
