On our last day of school, our 4th grade students took their final walk through the halls of Lincoln Elementary, saying goodbye to the students and staff who have been part of their journey since Kindergarten. There were many smiles, hugs, high fives, and tears as they reflected on the memories made throughout the years. As they walked the halls one last time, staff and students celebrated the growth, friendships, and accomplishments of this special group. Lincoln Elementary has been home to these students for many years, and they will always be an important part of our school family.
We also took time to recognize and thank Kathy Maag and Carolyn Holien as they begin their retirement. Their dedication, care, and commitment to students and staff have made a lasting impact on Lincoln Elementary.

Our 4th graders had a great day at Lake Pelican participating in the Go Fourth Program hosted by the South Dakota Game, Fish and Parks program! Students rotated through several hands-on learning stations throughout the day. At one station, they examined 15 different pelts from local animals and worked together to identify each one. Another station focused on a โshed hunt,โ where students learned facts about antlers and animal habitats while exploring different antler sheds. Students also discovered the unique traits of beavers and how their features help them survive in nature. During the water cycle activity, students explored how water moves through the environment and learned which processes transfer the most water. At the grasslands station, students learned why grasslands are important to our region and the role they play in supporting wildlife and ecosystems. The day was filled with both learning and fun, and students enjoyed the opportunity to explore nature through hands-on activities and outdoor experiences.
