Third grade enjoyed a pizza party today for winning our March attendance award! Keep up the great attendance!

Mellette Families: Here are the dress-up days for this week as we celebrate Read Across America Week!


The Mellette kindergarten classes delivered Valentine cards and sang a song to residents at an assisted living. The room was definitely filled with joy and love!

The students are creating a "Heart Wall" with Miss McCarty in PE to go along with our Kids Heart Challenge you may be hearing about! The students may dedicate a heart and add it to the wall if they know someone who has been affected by a heart condition in any way.

On Monday, January 8th, the Watertown School Board will hear a presentation on the plan for our elementary schools. This will be for discussion only with no action taken. Mrs. Kannas' 2nd-grade class used their creativity while being engineers in science today! They made hats, using only lunch supplies, to solve the problem of shading their head from the sun, as if they were on a deserted island.


Congratulations to Mrs. Moes, one of Mellette's 1st grade teachers, for being chosen as McDonalds' McTeacher of the month!
