IMPORTANT NOTICE: Training Exercise on April 23rd
Please be advised that Lake Area Technical College will be conducting a large-scale emergency response training exercise on Thursday, April 23, 2026, beginning at approximately 9:00 AM. This drill is expected to last about four hours and will take place near LATC and WHS.
What to Expect...
The Scenario: A simulated narcotics investigation beginning at the Law Enforcement training house (south of WHS on Arrow Avenue).
Sounds/Sights: You may hear simulated gunfire or see Law Enforcement students serving search warrants and treating multiple "victims."
Road Closure: Arrow Avenue between 11th St. NE and 9th St. NE will be briefly closed during the exercise.
Note: This is a controlled training environment only. There is no danger to the public, but we want our community and students to be aware of the increased law enforcement presence and simulated activity in the area.
Thank you for your cooperation as our local students train for real-world safety!
